Local #6 is over 100 years old, earning its charter membership in 1898. Throughout its history it has maintained a high level of training opportunities for both its members and apprentices, training hundreds of apprentices and conducting recurrent training for all its members.

In 1985 a training facility was constructed to continue this tradition of training. Part of the facility is used for classroom studies, with the remaining areas used for actual development of various types of welding skills, advanced piping technologies, servicing of specialized devices, blueprint reading, and many  other skills related to plumbing and pipefitting.

Over the past fourteen years we have made a couple of additions to add more classrooms, conference rooms and business offices.
